Chris Brazzell Jr. returns to practice

Tennessee’s Chris Brazzell Jr. took to the practice field to kick off week three of fall camp.

The veteran wide receiver was a limited participant during the Vols’ Fall Camp on Monday morning.

Through the first two weeks of fall practice, the Texas native was sidelined due to a lower leg injury. During that time, he was seen doing individual work during the early periods of practice.

Then on practice No. 9, Brazzell Jr. was the most involved in practice that the media has seen to this point. He joined his teammates during the stretching and warmup periods.

Then he trotted out to the outdoor practice field to join his position group in receiving drills. It was in those moments, it became clear he was a limited participant.

FDP saw Brazzell Jr. run two routes during the open period for the media. The first route was unsuccessful as the snap was dropped and then the ball was delivered near his feet. On the second drill, it was another crossing route and he did catch that pass.

However, as he was going through the drills he was moving at half speed. With a full sleeve on his right leg it appears he’s continuing to rebuild strength and comfort.

With less than three weeks before the start of Tennessee’s football season, Brazzell Jr. becoming more involved gives some stability to an otherwise injury-riddled wide receiver room.
