Kim Caldwell adds proven assistant to Lady Vols staff

Tennessee women’s basketball coach Kim Caldwell has added another experienced assistant to her staff. Tuesday the university announced the hiring of former Georgia assistant Isoken Uzamere.

Uzamere, who spent the past four seasons at Georgia, becomes the second addition to Caldwell’s staff, joining Bill Ferrara.

Recognized in 2023 by Silver Waves Media as one of the “50 Most Impactful High Major NCAA Division I Women’s Assistant Coaches,” Uzamere brings more than a decade of experience. During that time, she contributed to nine NCAA Tournament appearances, including trips with Georgia in 2023 and 2026.

“We are thrilled to welcome Isoken Uzamere to our staff,” Caldwell said in a statement. “She is highly-regarded in our profession and has consistently demonstrated the skill set and personal characteristics to be a valued contributor.”

At Georgia, Uzamere worked primarily with post players while assisting in recruiting and scouting. She helped the Bulldogs to a 22-win season and NCAA Tournament appearance in her first year.

Before her time at Georgia, Uzamere spent six seasons at UCF.

There she was part of a staff that led the Knights to three NCAA Tournament appearances and the 2022 American Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament titles.

Uzamere began her collegiate coaching career at Albany.

First as a graduate assistant and later as an assistant coach, helping the program to four conference titles and four NCAA Tournament appearances, including its first NCAA Tournament win in 2016.

A former forward at Hofstra, Uzamere was a two-time All-Academic selection and holds degrees from Hofstra and Albany.
