Tennessee added another key piece to its roster Thursday.
Northern Arizona transfer Naomi White’s commitment to the Lady Vols marks the program’s second portal addition this week and offers an early look at the direction of the rebuild.
White joins Liberty transfer Avery Mills in Knoxville, giving coach Kim Caldwell two backcourt additions to begin reshaping the roster.
For now, Tennessee has three players on its roster, including incoming freshman Gabby Minus.
White, a 5-foot-9 guard, arrives with significant production. She was named Big Sky Freshman of the Year after averaging 20.8 points per game, one of the top marks among freshmen nationally. In addition, she led the conference in 3-point field goals made, 3-point field goals per game, and 3-point percentage.
Notably, her scoring ability showed against strong competition.
In a nonconference matchup with Arizona, White scored 28 points while shooting efficiently and making four 3-pointers. She also displayed her ceiling with a 37-point performance against Weber State, where she set a program record with nine made 3-pointers.
At her best, White is a confident, high-volume scorer. She can create off the dribble, space the floor, and operate comfortably as a primary option. As a result, she addresses a key need for Tennessee, which sought more consistent scoring and playmaking this past season.
At the same time, her commitment reveals something broader.

Through two portal additions, Tennessee has clearly prioritized offensive production early in the process. Both White and Mills bring scoring ability and offensive versatility, traits that were inconsistent at times this past season.
For now, White remains another step forward as Caldwell and company rebuild the Lady Vols’ roster.
