Tennessee baseball is parting ways with assistant coach Josh Reynolds after two seasons with the program, head coach Josh Elander announced.
Reynolds joined Tennessee’s staff ahead of the 2025 season as the Volunteers’ Director of Baseball Operations and Pitching Performance. Following the 2025 campaign, he was promoted to assistant coach and assumed responsibility for overseeing Tennessee’s pitching staff entering the 2026 season.
Elander thanked Reynolds for his contributions to the program while explaining the decision to make a change.
“I want to thank Josh Reynolds for his hard work and dedication to the Tennessee baseball program during his two seasons in Knoxville, but I have decided it’s best for our program to move in a different direction from a pitching standpoint at this time,” Elander said in a statement.
The move creates a vacancy on Tennessee’s coaching staff as the Volunteers begin preparations for the 2027 season.
A search for a new pitching coach is already underway, according to the program.

Reynolds spent two years in Knoxville and played a role in the development and management of Tennessee’s pitching staff during his tenure. His promotion to assistant coach last November came after serving in an operations and performance-focused role during the 2025 season.
Tennessee finished 49th in the country with an ERA of 4.27. The staff allowed 8.32 hits per game, which was 32nd most in the nation.
