Tennessee basketball fans will get their first look at a dramatically different roster Saturday, Oct. 3.
The Vols will open their intrasquad scrimmage at Food City Center to the public, giving fans an early look at Rick Barnes’ 2026-27 team and its 13 newcomers.
Admission is free, with gates opening at 11 a.m. ahead of the 11:30 a.m. scrimmage. Fans can enter through Gates C and D. Once inside, fans are encouraged to sit in Sections 103 through 107.
Concession stands will not be open during the scrimmage.
Fans attending should also plan ahead for parking. There will be no public parking available on Tennessee’s campus because lots are allocated for the Tennessee-Auburn football game.
The open scrimmage comes early in preseason practice for a Tennessee team undergoing one of its biggest roster changes under Barnes.
Tennessee returns after finishing 25-12 overall and 11-7 in SEC play last season. The Vols reached the Elite Eight for the third consecutive year and finished No. 12 in the final AP poll, extending their streak to five straight seasons with at least 25 wins and a top-20 finish.

Now, Barnes enters his 12th season at Tennessee tasked with bringing together a roster featuring 13 new players.
Saturday’s scrimmage will offer fans their first public opportunity to see how his newest group is beginning to come together.
